How It Works!

Below is a step by step guide on how the growing process works.

This is a fantasy product, candy cane growth is simulated and requires adult assistance.

Your child should read the Andy Canes story first, then decorate the growing chamber with the stickers included in the kit.

2

Before going to bed that night, your child will remove the Sugar Seed from its pouch.

3

image19

They'll place the Sugar Seed inside the growing chamber.

4

Your child will then fill the Andy Canes bottle with water and add a few sprinkles of Magic Crystals.

5

image21

They'll slowly pour a little water into the growing chamber until the chamber

lights up.  Then it's time for bed!

6

Once the child is asleep, "assistance" is needed to remove the Sugar Seed and empty the water from the chamber.  This takes less than 10 seconds.

Then, "assistance" is needed to place the Stage 1 crystal structure (included in the kit) inside the chamber.  At this point the growing chamber lights will be off because the chamber is water activated.   When the child checks the chamber the next morning, they will see the seed has grown into Stage 1!

On the night of day 2, before going to bed, children should once again water the chamber.  Once they are asleep, "assistance" is needed again to remove Stage 1 and the water and place Stage 2 inside the chamber.  This takes less than 10 seconds.

When they wake up the next morning, they will believe the crystal structure has grown larger!

On the night of day 3, children should once again water the chamber before going to bed.  Once they are asleep, "assistance" is needed to remove Stage 2 and the water and place Stage 3 inside the chamber.

When they wake up the next morning they will rush to check the chamber and see the crystal structure has grown even larger!

On the night of day 4, the process is repeated.  Children should once again water the chamber before going to bed.  Once they are asleep, "assistance" is needed to remove Stage 3 and the water and place Stage 4 inside the chamber.

The crystal structure for Stage 4 is also used for Stages 5, 6, and 7.   For Stage 4, you will use the white candy canes that came with your kit.   Break off a small piece and place it inside the hole.

When your  child wakes up the next morning, they will see the candy cane has started to grow!

On the night of day 5, children once again water the chamber before going to bed.  Once they are asleep, "assistance" is needed to remove the white candy cane piece from Stage 4 and the water, and then place a larger piece of the white candy cane in hole of the crystal structure.

When your child wakes up the next morning to check the chamber they will see the candy cane has grown larger!

On the night of day 6, children once again water the chamber before going to bed.  Once they are asleep, "assistance" is needed to remove the white candy cane piece and the water from the chamber, and then place a final, larger piece of white candy cane in hole of the crystal structure.

When your child wakes up the next morning, they will see the candy cane has grown even larger!

On the final night of day 7, children once again water the chamber before going to bed.  Once they are asleep, "assistance" is needed to remove the white candy cane piece and the water from the chamber, and then place the full sized red and white peppermint candy cane in the hole of the crystal structure.

When your  child wakes up the next morning, they will see the "fully grown", edible candy cane!

Additionally.....................

some customers may wish to simulate growth quicker.  Although there are many ways to do this, and you can customize the growth stages how you see fit, below is just one example of an alternative way of depicting faster growth.  In this example, a full candy cane is grown overnight.

Although the kit is designed to last 7 nights, you can do this in one night, two nights, three nights, etc...................you control the stages!

Then, "assistance" is needed to place the Stage 4 crystal structure (included in the kit) inside the chamber and place the red and white "fully grown" candy cane in the base.

When your child checks the chamber the next morning, they'll see the seed has grown into a full sized, edible candy cane!

Here's some additional information that you may find helpful.

1.  The white candy canes included in your kit are completely edible. We have manufactured them exclusively for Andy Canes to be sour.  This was done so that if your child wishes to taste them during the "growing" stages, they will know the candy cane is not ready to eat yet.  This concept is similar to an unripened piece of fruit.  Also, the absence of color in the candy cane indicates it's not ready.

2.  The "fully grown" red and white candy cane is completely edible.  See our "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQ) page for allergen information.  Please refer to our products page for nutritional information.

3. You do not have to follow the same growing plan as illustrated above.  You can make your phases longer or shorter based on your own preference.  If you forgot to "assist" with a phase, no problem, just tell your child the growing process takes time!

4.  The 4 crystal base structures are NOT edible.  As noted on our website, this kit includes small pieces and is not intended for children under six (6) years of age.  Parental guidance is required when using this product.
